Waste Management Conference Hailed A Success

Hadfield Wood Recyclers is celebrating after a successful week exhibiting at a waste management conference.

The Manchester-based wood recyclers were inundated with interest from delegates at the CIWM (Chartered Institute of Waste Management) annual conference in Paignton, Devon last week.

In particular, local authorities showed a keen interest in the company because of its ability to accept low grade wood waste and recycle it for use in biomass fuel.

Geoff Hadfield, Managing Director of Hadfield Wood Recyclers, said: “It is the first time we have exhibited at the CIWM conference but it proved very useful to us and to many of the delegates who attended because we had a lot in common.

“Many local authorities are struggling to do anything with their low grade wood waste other than send it to landfill. We are one of the few wood recyclers who can take it from them and genuinely reuse it, saving them money on rising landfill costs and enabling them to meet their targets under the landfill directive. This was a message well received by delegates at the conference.”

Hadfield Wood Recyclers and its sister company UK Wood Recycling (UKWR) both produce biomass fuel from recycled wood, as well as a range of other recycled wood products including equine, poultry and cattle bedding.
The companies can take all grades of non-hazardous woods including MDF, chipboard and melamine.
